On warm summer evenings there is no place like Tucci in downtown Lake Oswego – I went there last night for a birthday dinner for my girlfriend and we had a wonderful time! The staff was attentive, the food was delicious – each one of us had a different dish and we tasted each others and all were amazing! The seafood risotto was especially good and cooked to perfection.

Tucci is a perfect place to host your next event with ample indoor seating in their dining room, a private Since their expansion, they are now available any night of the week for a private party. It is never too early to begin planning your next special event. Invite your guests to a casual “stand-up dinner” or make a long evening of it by serving a traditional Italian coursed meal paired with regional Italian wines. Their Bacchus Wine Room is the perfect place to host your party. They also have live music Thursday – Saturday nights.

At the beginning of 2009, declining contributions and revenues forced the Clackamas Heritage Partners Board – CHP (including The Museum of Oregon Territory and the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center) to suspend most operations and lay off staff. According to Dan Fowler, CHP President, “one reality in life is that good things can come out of great adversity… the response of individuals and businesses in our regional community was heartening…”

And the results? CHP have introduced their summer museum hours thanks to thousands of dollars raised in a Phone-A-Thon effort and a “Run A Mile Day” event held recently.

“This extraordinary show of hard work and generosity is humbling and exciting. I offer all of these wonderful people as well as scores of others who were part of our effort my sincere thanks and gratitude. I know I speak for the board and staff in saying that we thank you for affirming our work in such a wonderful way. Please take the opportunity to visit us this summer.”

Check out their upcoming activities on our Bravo! Calendar of Events

Caples House is a pioneer house museum owned and run by the Oregon State Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Situated with an inspiring view of the Columbia River and Mount St. Helens, the house and grounds have seen a lot of history – from log cabin days to housing (in what ought to have been by rights Mrs. Caples’ dining room) the first doctor’s office in Columbia County. But history is not frozen in amber – every person who interacts with a place or community leaves an imprint of sorts – and the OSSDAR is honoring this fact with Love Bricks.

The herb garden, site of weddings and renewal of vows, will be paved with bricks commemorating weddings and anniversaries. A “Memory Walk” between the museum’s Country Store (museum shop) and the Children’s Attic (with its collection of antique dolls and toys) will be paved with bricks honoring births, deaths, and other family events.

Bricks are available to the public for $45 each. A complimentary brick is included when Caples House is rented for a full day for a wedding or other event.

For more information, click here or call the events coordinator at (503) 397-5390.
